How Do I Set Up My Rock Band 2 Cymbals For Wii?

I just purchased Rock Band 2 cymbals for Wii. The set came with two cymbals, which were GREEN and YELLOW. I can’t seem to be able to use the cymbals during my songs though. The colored cymbals are connected into the correct cable jack, but when i hit the cymbals during songs, it doesn’t work. Can anyone please explain the steps (even if it is the most obvious step) to set up the cymbals for my Rock Band 2 drums? Its pretty obvious? What Is The Best Way To Set Up Drum Set Cymbals?

The only rule is that there are no rules!
Generally though most setups have the high-hat on the left of the snare and the ride on the far right over the floor tom. Your other cymbals are arranged in the front area depending on what you have. For example you could put your brighter or higher pitched cymbals toward the left of center and the darker or lower pitched cymbals to the right. The middle area is much more personalized.
