Roland TD-12KXS V-Stage Electronic Drum Kit [REVIEW]

I’ve always been a little sceptical about Electric / Electronic Drum Kits simply because they’re just not the same as a traditional acoustic Drum Kit. But I reckon companies such as Roland with their V-Drum products are almost on the money with producing the right feel and sound to make me seriously consider purchasing an Electronic Drum Kit. Maybe I’ve been ignorant to the vast improvements over the years, but at least I hope that’s about to change.

I’ve been checking out a few online drum shops lately – just seeing what’s around really, and I came across this awesome looking drum set. I can’t believe how good it looks for a drum set that’s under $350!!! It’s the DDrum DBOP20 4-Piece Drum Shell Kit.

Biggest Electronic Drum Kit: Yamaha DTXpress

A tour of quadbassblaster‘s two Yamaha DTXpress 2 drumkits joined together with custom created china and cymbal and splash pads with triggers bigger than Roland TD20 like a DIY experiment. This may not be the worlds biggest greatest largest drumkit like Terry Bozzio, but still not bad i think! Using hosa ypp117 ypp 117 adapters you can expand and split one port into 2 trigger inputs with separate sounds. Today I came across and interesting thread about why modern drummers are shrinking their drum set and cymbals.
It seems that there is a common trend these days to reduce the number of drums and cymbals on the drum set. This is particularly interesting given that during the 70′s and particularly 80′s, many rockstar drummers had massive drum sets that sometimes seemed a little over the top. This trend was seen especially among heavy metal and hard rock drummers such as Van Halen, Neil Peart, and Simon Phillips and I suppose even Phil Collins from Genesis was up there.
